Masters study programme "Biotechnology (Genetics, Biotechnology & Plant Breeding)"

The aim of  MSc "Biotechnology (Genetics, Biotechnology & Plant Breeding)" is to train Master Study students for practical activity which demands  fundamental and professional training in agronomy (particularly in biotechnology, molecular biology and genetics of plants, plant breeding and seed growing of crops, tissue and cell cultures of plants, genetic engineering of plants, bioinformatics and genomics of plants, application of natural and synthetic plant growth regulators in plant growth and biotechnology, applied biotechnology, genetics of crops, cytogenetics of plants), and for scientific-research, normative-methodical and educational activity.

Number of ECTS credit points to be allocated 120 ECTS (4284 hours). Credits are measured in terms of the hours of study involved: one credit is equivalent to a study load of 36 hours.

 

Tasks of the Master's Programme


Theory:
5 periods – 60 ECTS (2124 hours);
Include: Classroom lectures, seminars and practical 12 hours in week (536 hours), self study – 1588 hours.


Practice – 36 ECTS (1296 hours).

Scientific research – 12 ECTS (432 hours).


Preparation of thesis, final examination, dissertation – 12 ECTS (432 hours).


1) 1 year – 60 ECTS
